Bootcamp commences 21/10/2024 and runs part-time for 6 weeks.

Overview

Our Law programme provides an alternative route into the traditionally exclusive legal industry through a 6-week, part-time bootcamp. Based in London and Birmingham, the programme offers a blend of employability skills development, exclusive networking opportunities, and specialised training with BPP University Law School.

Successful completion of the 6-week bootcamp means you will secure a guaranteed interview with one of our industry leading employment partners, for an apprenticeship or permanent role offering at least the National Living Wage.

Gain direct access to some of the leading law firms in the country and network with experienced legal professionals in a variety of specialisms; from criminal law to family law. Previous participants in this programme have gone on to secure positions such as paralegal apprenticeships, solicitor apprenticeships and legal clerk positions.

We are looking for young people aged 18– 24 who are passionate about building a career in the legal industry. You don’t need previous experience, but you need to display a strong desire to kickstart a career in law.

As a social mobility charity, we focus on working with young people from backgrounds that traditionally have more barriers to accessing opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria:
✅ 18-24 years old
✅ Eligible for free school meals and/or require additional support to access careers
✅ Did not attend a private / fee-paying school
✅ Ideally you will have 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above

As a social mobility charity, LTSB seek to work with young people that may traditionally face barriers to employment, or who face underemployment. If you’re unsure of whether you meet this criteria, please reach out to us via applications@ltsb.charity

You won’t be able to join the programme if you have a degree level qualification.

Everyone who completes our course is guaranteed an interview with a quality employer in the law industry for a range of roles including apprenticeships and full-time, permanent positions such as clerking. You will receive 1-2-1 support to develop your interview skills and exclusive networking opportunities with professional volunteers from a range of major companies.

Those who are successful in securing a place on the LTSB Law programme will:

✅ Receive in-person employability training on our 6-week bootcamp with BPP University Law School.
✅ Tailored support to help you gain employment with a living wage employer.
✅ Receive professional support during the first 12 months of your career, including monthly catch-ups with our team and invites to events with the friends you made during bootcamp.

Our 6-week bootcamps will mostly be delivered online. You will need a device to access the sessions via Zoom, and a stable internet connection.

We will also include some in-person events for successful candidates to meet the team and gain real world experience of a corporate setting.

A typical timetable might include sessions covering…

  • Email and Professional Communication
  • Presentation Prep and Practice and Elevator Pitch
  • Negotiation Skills/ Critical Thinking / Information Sources
  • Morality, Ethics and the Law
  • Interview Skills and Mock Interviews
  • Insight Days with law firms
