Overview
Our Insurance Programme is brand new for 2024, designed to empower young people aged 18-24 from Manchester and Liverpool with the skills and knowledge needed to embark on a successful career in the insurance industry.
We will provide you with a genuine insight into the insurance sector and help your professional development by delivering interview coaching, CV workshops, critical thinking, communications, debating and presentation skills which are all delivered by our experienced Careers Development Managers.
Throughout the programme, you will have the unique opportunity to engage with leading experts from the insurance industry. These professionals bring a wealth of experience and knowledge, offering invaluable guidance and connections to kickstart a thriving career.
Successful completion of the programme guarantees interviews with approved, living-wage employers. Explore careers in insurance processing and operations, customer service roles, risk management, insurance claims and underwriting.
We are looking for young people aged 18– 24 who are passionate about building a career in insurance. You don’t need previous experience, but you do need to show evidence of a genuine interest in the sector.
Eligibility Criteria:
✅ 18-24 years old
✅ Received free school meals and/or require additional support to access careers
✅ Did not attend a private / fee-paying school
✅ Ideally you will have 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above
As a social mobility charity, LTSB seek to work with young people that may traditionally face barriers to employment, or who face underemployment. If you’re unsure of whether you meet this criteria, please reach out to us via applications@ltsb.charity
You won’t be able to join the programme if you have a degree level qualification.
Everyone who completes our course is guaranteed an interview with a quality employer in the Insurance industry. You’ll receive 1-2-1 support to develop your interview skills and exclusive networking opportunities with professional volunteers from a range of major companies.
Those who are successful in securing a place on the LTSB Insurance programme will:
✅ Receive in-person employability training on our 3-week bootcamp.
✅ Tailored support to help you gain employment with a living wage employer.
✅ Receive professional support during the first 12 months of your career, including monthly catch-ups and events with everyone from your course!

How to apply
- Follow the link below to complete the application form. Remember, you’re applying to LTSB’s pre-employment programme, not a job.
- Once you have completed and submitted your application, the LTSB team will check your eligibility, and follow up to invite you to an online Information Session to explain how it all works in more detail.
- You will then be invited to an in-person Assessment Centre with other young people applying for the programme where you’ll do group tasks and have a 1-2-1 interview.
- Successful candidates will be offered a place on the programme.
