Gugan’s Story: From Gap Year Uncertainty to the Legal Industry
Gugan joined our Birmingham Law programme during her gap year, looking for direction and experience. With our tailored support and interview coaching, she secured a role as a Barristers’ Clerk at No5 Chambers.
Searching for Direction and Real Experience
Gugan joined the Birmingham Law programme in 2023, and after gaining insight into a range of legal careers, she’s now working at No 5 Barristers’ Chambers as a Barrister’s Clerk, a role she was introduced to through LTSB’s Employment Team.
“Before joining LTSB, I was in my gap year, struggling to figure out my next steps. University didn’t feel like the right path for me, and I was unsure of how to gain the work experience I needed. I didn’t have the connections or the skills to really stand out, and I was feeling pretty lost about my future”
Gaining Confidence and Stepping into Law
“I didn’t expect LTSB to make such a big difference, but it turned out to be exactly what I needed. Unlike other work experiences, LTSB was tailored to me. The bootcamp gave me confidence and helped me perfect my interview skills through one-on-one sessions. With their support, I landed a role as a Junior Barristers Clerk at No5 Chambers. They helped me build a strong network and a standout CV that got me noticed.”
Not only has Gugan settled into her career, she’s making progress and regularly returns to LTSB to share her advice and experience with the new cohorts.
“Since starting my job, I’ve experienced rapid growth and developed a real passion for my career. I’m more confident and motivated than ever. LTSB made a huge impact on my life, and I’m so grateful for their continued support even after the bootcamp ended. I highly recommend LTSB to anyone needing experience and guidance in starting their career. It’s been the best work experience I’ve ever had.”
