The number of young people in the UK without employment, education or training (NEETS), has reached crisis point, with thousands struggling to find a job simply because they don’t have any experience.
LTSB works with talented, ambitious young people who have already completed our employability programmes. They are now ready to work, with the skills and motivation to start their careers. All they need is an opportunity. We’re taking action, but we need your help.
We’re calling on businesses to step up and offer a work experience placement of one week or more to one of our young people.
You and your business can help transform someone’s life, by helping them to:
- Gain their first professional experience
- Build confidence and workplace skills
- Strengthen their CV
- Prepare for interviews and selection processes
- Take a crucial first step towards employment
A single placement can break down barriers, build aspirations and change the direction of a young person’s future. For businesses, it’s a cost-effective way to access emerging talent and bring new skills and perspectives to your organisation, such as digital fluency. It can also help your staff develop their own skills in leadership and mentoring.
