From School Leaver to Partner: Fabio Riccio’s Decade at BKL
We are delighted to share that Fabio Riccio, who began his career through an LTSB pre-employment programme in 2016, has been appointed as Accounts and Business Services Partner at BKL, becoming the firm’s youngest ever partner.
It is a remarkable milestone, and one that started with an LTSB programme ten years ago.
From Bootcamp to the Boardroom
When Fabio first connected with LTSB in 2015, his options felt limited. Apprenticeships weren’t widely available, and a career in professional services wasn’t an obvious path.
That changed after he completed LTSB’s bootcamp and was introduced to BKL, one of LTSB’s longest-standing employer partners. Fabio joined the firm as a trainee and within two years, in 2017, he was named Apprentice of the Year. It was an early sign of what was to come.
Since then, his progression from trainee to senior manager was among the fastest in BKL’s history — and now he has now gone further still. In 2025, Fabio was named a winner of the Accountancy Age 35 Under 35, which celebrates young UK accountants making outstanding contributions to their firms and to the profession. Now, he has taken the next step.
In His Own Words
“LTSB helped me to get my foot in the door. Apprenticeships weren’t as popular in 2015 and there were limited options for people who didn’t go to uni, but I knew I could succeed if I had the chance. When I was on the bootcamp, LTSB gave me loads of opportunities to meet different employers. Without that, I never would have found my role at BKL, one of LTSB’s oldest employer partners. LTSB encouraged me to never give up. They genuinely changed my life and I’m proud to lead the way for other young people following the same path.” — Fabio Riccio
On his appointment as partner, Fabio said:
“After beginning my accountancy career with BKL ten years ago, I’m proud to call myself a BKL partner. I’ve always aspired to work hard towards my goals, strive for excellence and find opportunities to grow — and to help clients and colleagues do the same.”
BKL’s CEO, Lee Brook, added:
“Along with all of Fabio’s colleagues old and new, I’m delighted at his progression to homegrown partner. His consistent focus on positive impact, high standards and the best outcome — for our clients, our ABS team and himself — will make him an outstanding senior leader.” – Lee Brook, CEO, BKL

A Partnership That Opens Doors
BKL has been an employer partner of LTSB for many years, consistently offering opportunities to talented young people from less advantaged backgrounds. Fabio’s journey is exactly the kind of long-term impact that partnership makes possible.
We couldn’t be prouder of everything Fabio has achieved, and we look forward to seeing what comes next.
