Last year RBS/NatWest pioneered a truly social mobile programme to tackle the lack of diversity in the digital and technology sector. The aim of this programme is to provide career-making opportunities to young people aged 18-24 years old from disadvantaged backgrounds. With endorsement from RBS CEO Alison Rose, and led by the Head of NatWest Ventures Andy Ellis, the bank partnered with Leadership Through Sport & Business (LTSB) to recruit and prepare a cohort of aspiring digital professionals.
RBS/NatWest’s commitment to promoting social mobility led the bank to partner with innovative social mobility charity LTSB.
Through the partnership, Justina Blair was placed into a 4-year Digital & Innovation degree apprenticeship programme. This year another 63 young people will be employed into apprenticeships across the country. The focus on social mobility has driven both RBS/NatWest and LTSB to create innovative bootcamps that reach young people who otherwise would miss an opportunity to start a career in a global company.
