Elite football club foundations at Chelsea, West Ham, Man City, and Aston Villa are a critical part of the LTSB programme, teaching our young people valuable transferable skills during the 4-month pre-employment phase.

For the newest intake, we’ve expanded to Liverpool and are working with their amazing foundation team, led by Gemma Smith, Project Lead. Liverpool FC Foundation, like our other partners, are always looking for new opportunities and experiences to broaden their knowledge and skills for the workplace – but they’ve also brought a touch of glamour too.

Zane Salmon, a stand-out of the Liverpool cohort, was offered the opportunity of a lifetime as a VIP guest of the club.

“We watched the game against Everton from one of the best seats at Anfield,” said Zane. “It was a rare opportunity from the Foundation and I am extremely grateful!”

Ian Pearce, founding member of The Boardroom at Anfield, invited two star Liverpool students, Adam and Ikraam, to be guests for the FA Cup game against West Bromwich Albion.

Adam, a lifelong Liverpool fan and a season ticket holder in the Kop, was delighted: “It was a fantastic experience meeting ex-players and some amazing people. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Ian Pearce for inviting me. It’s something I’ll always remember.”

Ikraam loved the chance to mingle with Liverpool FC VIPs: “Being given the opportunity to meet ex-football players such as Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, as well as the CEO of Liverpool Football Club Peter Moore was unbelievable – definitely the highlight of the night!”

Our work in Liverpool has been generously supported by the People’s Postcode Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. We received £20,000 from the Trust to support our Liverpool project.
