LTSB is a social mobility charity dedicated to helping young people into the world of work through our employment programmes. We work with major firms across the UK in a range of sectors including Business & Finance, Digital Technology, Customer Service, Marketing & Legal.

Here’s how it works.

Our Business and Finance employment programme is tailored to give you the training and skills to succeed in your chosen career. We will provide you with a genuine insight into the Business & Finance sector and help your professional development by delivering interview coaching, CV workshops, critical thinking, communications, debating and presentation skills which are all delivered by our experienced Careers Development Managers. We also include insight events and Q&A with leading companies, business professionals and LTSB Alumni.

Our Birmingham & London programmes include an accredited Level 2 Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification through one of our education partners BPP or The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London. This programme is 12 weeks long and part-time alongside your studies.

Successful completion of the programme guarantees interviews with approved employers for roles such as:

  • Project Management
  • Audit
  • Business Admin
  • Risk & Compliance
  • Assistant Accountant
  • Finance Assistant

On the apprenticeship you’ll have the opportunity to gain a qualification, learn new skills, earn a competitive salary, and be supported professionally during the first 12 months of your career.

We are looking for young people aged 18 – 21 who are passionate about building a career Business & Finance Sector. You don’t need previous experience, but you do need to show evidence of an interest in the sector.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Educated at a state school
  • At least a 5 or above in English and Math’s GCSEs
  • Passionate about the sector
  • Proven interest in business and finance

  • Click the link below to complete our application form. This will ask you certain questions about which location you’re applying for, your skills and your background to check your eligibility.
  • If eligible for our programme can expect to receive an email inviting you to a phone interview with one of the LTSB Team. This will be to find out a little more about you and why you are interested in joining our Programme
  • If successful in interview you will then be invited to an online assessment centre with other young people applying for the programme.
  • Successful candidates will be offered a place on the Bootcamp!

Q: Can I take part in LTSB’s programmes and still be eligible for Universal Credit?

A: Please inform your work coach if you are offered a place on an LTSB programme, but yes, in principle you should be able to take part.  Please check the table below, which may help your work coach to understand how it works:

Business & Finance programme
  • Part-time course lasting around 4 months
  • Helps you to undertake your work-related requirements
  • Introduces you to prospective employers
  • Improves job-seeking skills (interview techniques and mock interviews, leading to interviews with recruiting employers)
  • Supports you to get and retain a job (and/or a better job)
NatWest Digital / Customer Advisor programme
  • Full-time course lasting 3 weeks
  • Helps you to undertake your work-related requirements
  • Guaranteed interview for a known, actual vacancy
  • Tailored job-seeking skills
  • Employer insight
  • Supports you to get and retain a job (and/or a better job)

Q: When are the next Bootcamps?

A: The next Bootcamp for Birmingham, Liverpool, and Manchester will start mid-April 2021. The next Bootcamp for London is planned for September 2021. We assess applications as we receive them, so don’t delay, apply now!

Q: What salary can I expect?

A: Starting salaries will be set by the specific employer. For the next Bootcamp in Birmingham, Liverpool, and Manchester, the employers we’re working with will be offering salaries of at least £16,000.
