FutureYOU connects employers with schools in areas of deprivation, giving pupils the confidence, language and understanding they need to make informed choices about their future.

About the Programme

Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds face real barriers to future success: they’re twice as likely to be out of work as their peers, and 68% receive no useful careers advice at school. FutureYOU gives pupils early careers guidance, access to workplaces, and exposure to employer partners. In our 2025 pilot:

93% of pupils understood the skills employers value
78% felt more confident showcasing their abilities
86% gained clarity on post-16 and post-18 options

How your company can get involved

There are several ways for your organisation to support FutureYOU, designed to be flexible and meaningful for your teams.

Employer insight sessions

Host pupils at your workplace or support a session in school, giving young people first-hand insight into working life.

Employee volunteering

Employees act as mentors, speakers or judges, sharing their experiences and supporting pupils through activities.

Programme Investment

Provide strategic financial support and help more pupils develop the confidence and skills to shape their futures.

I had forgotten how difficult it was to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. I re-learnt that not everything is an even playing field, so watching some of the students speak in their second / third language, combat public speaking, and read aloud was brilliant.
